Honestly was a little sad when BaekJeong closed down, but from what I hear from my sister this restaurant is still opened by Kang Ho Dong?

I love the feel of this BBQ place, definitely not as family friendly as Baek Jeong, but I will I love the atmosphere of this place.

Food, I loved. Side dishes is a bit less compared to other BBQ places, but I think it's good enough if you don't have a big appetite like me. When my boyfriend and I went, we were lucky that there weren't a lot of people so service was pretty quick and the servers were all very nice.

The place is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. I loved everything that we ordered and was very full by the end of the meal.

    Will be coming back again!

Tl;dr: I miss Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. The new place has similar meat, less side dishes, worse service, increased price (30-50% more), and a really bad attitude.

The previous menu has 2 options (small and large) each for pork and beef. The new menu is very confusing with 5 combo A to E, and then you choose small or large for some of them. Previously, a Small was good for 3 people and the Large was good for 5 people (this is how much my friend group eat) but the new menu specifically said that S is for 2 and L is for 3. So we ordered the most expensive combo which is combo D ($160), the menu said for 3-4 people. (For comparison, precious L beef combo was $110 and fed 5 people). Since we are not super hungry meat eater, I ordered that and 2 side dishes.

Like another reviewer has said, the waitress gave us the attitude when we ordered combo D, saying it won't be enough food. I told her I had 2 other dishes and that this is how much food we would order from the previous place. She still insisted that we have another order of meat. That was super rude and guess what, that was so much more meat than we can eat. So we would've been fine without that extra order she suggested.

Also, I noticed the free steamed egg refills is no longer free. It is now $5 extra.

We told her there is a person with a birthday. She asked if we brought a cake. And gave us an "oh well" once we told her we didn't bring a cake. It's fine if that's your policy but we went out a lot for birthday parties and with the size of our bill it would've been way smarter for them to treat us something like a nice gesture. Tip: Little Sheep in Flushing is very nice in that respect.

They no longer serve the beansprouts. You now have to ask for lettuce.

I also dislike the new table arrangement. There used to be round tables in addition to the rectangular tables, which is perfect for parties of 5-7. Now you have to get 2 connected rectangular tables. I suspect this will help them get more money since now they will force you to order more combo if you have 7. But what happened for us is that it just made it super clumsy. We ordered meat enough for everyone but they had to grilled the meat on one table and then split the meat to the other table. It would've been way easier with the old format. Now I can't talk to people on the other end of the table.

Overall, we paid a lot more than we usually did when we went to Baekjeong. I get it, you want to upgrade the restaurant but you might want to start first with upgrading the employees' attitude and service before changing the price tag.

For my next hang out with friends, I know I won't come back to this place.

This is the old Kang-Ho Dong, just under new management. Same staff, same menu. There are a lot of solid items on the menu and for entertainment, get the simple but great "Lunchbox".

It does get a bit warm/hot, but that's expected when you cook your own food in front of you. The staff is very friendly and will answer all your questions (even when we asked for translations).

We were so eager to try Jeong Yook due to the reviews!  We were a party of 4 (2kids)  and they were able to accommodate and set up the kids utensils etc!  The decor us amazing, we had a sligt draft sitting near the door, but it wasn't a big deal.  My kids loved the only non-spicy small dish (the broccoli ) the staff was attentive and noticed the kids fighting over the last piece and had someone bring us another dish, excellent service . The food was EXCELLENT!  The meat quality was good and it was cooked perfectly,  the skirt literally melted in my mouth!  We are definitely coming back,  the kids loved the mini dance they did when they opened a wine/drink?  Overall a wonderful experience,  excellent food and wonderful+quick service

This place is a solid 5 stars. Came here on a Saturday night with 7 friends for dinner. We got seated fairly quickly. Our server was very attentive and fast with our orders. Don't forget, you can get a free beer, juice, or soda if you check in on yelp. That is honestly a really good deal. Overall the meats were high quality, and cooked to perfection. We also ordered the fried rice box, which comes with a fun little performance. Highly recommend it! The fried rice itself is very good as well. We usually eat Korean food in ktown, but now we might be coming to flushing more.
